Re: Firefox 3
Even better, I read recently about how around 50% of Firefox 2 users have converted to Firefox 3 - this is REALLY great. Something around 2/3rds of IE users are using old versions, if I remember right - even version 5! Blah. It just goes to show that Firefox had a good trend of progressive software development and a loyal customer base.
The current count is 29.5 million - that's really cool. I've been spending time helping people install and set up Firefox 3 on their computers. I even sent out company-wide emails on a few really cool add-ons like IE Tab which almost makes it a sin to even open the IE client ever again :P

Re: Firefox 3
That's why the Guinness record stuff is good for marketing. Although it's a bit hokey - that kind of stuff gets around to people who don't know what Firefox is...and when they see it's literally one of the most downloaded piece of software ever (credibility given by the Guinness World Record) it will make them at least want to look deeper into it than they might if some tech geek is pissing on IE, haha.
I still think it's pretty interesting that given most people can update to IE7 through automatic updates, they choose not to download it and/or use it. That in itself is a pretty huge deal. I'm sure lots of people opened up IE7 and went "whoa, what the heck? where is everything!?" because it was so different. The only good thing is that IE7 ripped a lot of stuff out of Firefox - so users going from IE7 to FF3 are more comfortable in that respect.
