web page on my ftp?

Ok just to put it out there I'm as new as new can be. I just got Dreamweaver and step up a ftp site so friends and family can come and checkout my twin daugthers. You know I post pics and blogs...etc...
But I want to build a web page with animations and pics with my blogs. Well I've stared the page and I'm bumping around learning as I go...Google is my friend...Lol.
Now the question that I have is can I set it up so when you go to the ftp site you get the page I"m making?...I know ..I know Alittle long winded for such a quick question....I just wanted to lay a good fondation, so you guys had a better idea of what I'm working with
Windows XP Home
Adobe DreamWeaver
U-Serv (for thr ftp)
and no-ip ( for the host)

Re: web page on my ftp?

LOL "Google is my friend" - exactly! :) Best resource a developer can have.

So you want us to log into your FTP, download your page(s), and tell you what we think? I'm not sure...

Re: web page on my ftp?

Well sort of, I was wanting to know if there was a way to set the ftp site so when you do log in, it opens a page that I designed...And I use the word "DESIGNED" very loosely...Like I said I'm very new at this....Probably been looking and reading for about a week, about an hour or two a day, so nothing spooktaculur...Lol... Just some pics of my Twin girls. Its seems I can't find anything that supports my idea, I'm thinking I'll have to bite the bullet and get a web host.

Re: web page on my ftp?

FTP = file transfer protocol. It's just a tool to upload/download items.

As far as web hosts, I go through HostGator - $5/month if you prepay 3 years. There are some free ones around if you can find them and are open to putting up with the strings attached (you pay for what you get, right?) - but check around with any of your computer-savy friends. They may have a web host already and might be able to afford you some space for free. I typically do that for my friends.

Re: web page on my ftp?

hahaha, I surely appreciate the crude sense of humor with that. At least you didn't name them "Candy" and "Lucious" or something - Journey and Destiny are very zen names :)

And the site looks perfectly fine for what you want to do. Good job! :)

Re: web page on my ftp?

hehe...

Dont get me wrong, I love your site, but I cant help to find the irony in the comparishion off your last post here

"....Can't wait"

and the last page on your site...

"SORRY REAL BUSY 2DAY I"LL BE BACK AT IT ON SUNDAY"

Obviously not this sunday coming but rather some sunday already passed.

C'mon mate, finish the site its looking good :) Or maybe the baybies are keeping you too busy hahaha

Congrats on your daughters and keep up the good work!
Soon sunday...

Re: web page on my ftp?

Yeah Twins....and the wife...I think she gets jealous on the PC.
But your rite I do need to get back to it, I think I need to post a couple Questions, I'm using DreamWeaver, how do I or how can I get space between the pics with just blank space or say I want to have an Arrow pointing towards the pic coming from the top right or left?
Just a couple things I'm trying to work on.
But I'm glad you like it so far.

Re: web page on my ftp?

There are many free guides for dreamweaver, I recommend that you do a websearch for free tutorial dreamweaver or free guide dreamweaver.

It will help you a lot more than me explaining here.
Good Luck :)
