[SOLVED] Hyper linking issue.
Hi guys. Im making a website for shcool and im having trouble with hyperlinking a menu. i Generated this menu from http://www.buttongenerator.com/index.php and i cant seem to hyper link the buttons. Now isnt a proper site, its just one you run off the comp, so i need to link the buttons to other documents.
attached is a folder with, my website, the folder with the buttons, menuscript.js and menustyle.css. i know ths ites a litte stufed there coz the pics are missing, but theres 2 big to fit. Edit: second attachment is the website that came with the menu (there was a download file with the button folder, menuscript.js, menustyle.css and this open me site.) the codes in there, maybe thats where i add the hyperlinks. thanks |

Re: Hyper linking issue.
@ jagjagjag: please provide a link to your site-to-be. This is much easier to check the coding...

Re: Hyper linking issue.
Hey guys. Basically im making a website for shcool. its not a proper website thats gonna be hosted, just something to view on the computers.
The problem im having is hyperlinking a menu that i got from buttongenerator.com i can get the menu to work (the mouse over effects and the submenus) but i cant hyperlink them to what i want. i need the hyperlinks to go to another file. so say this is in one publisher doc, u click a hyper link and it takes you to another. I need to know where i put in the hyperlink (where in the code do i set the target). Attacthed is a copy of the website (my website.html), its missing the background and pictures but you can still see the code if you go to view and then source. it also has the buttons and the menuscript.js and menustyle.css files that came with my menu. they make the effects and looks of menu. if you open the menuscript.js, u can see something like set submenu links and targets here, is this where i set the destination file (eg C:\documents and setttings\etc etc) so really i just need to code to be marked to tell me where i set my links Thanks. |

Re: Hyper linking issue.
Hey Bhahar, i tried what u said, but it didnt work, if u hyperlink it in publisher, when u publish, u get u sets of menu, one that works (the sub menus come up at bottom of screen) and one in top left corner, the hyperlink i put works on that one. but then everything else is stuffed, even the background and pics r gone

Re: Hyper linking issue.
Finally, manage to resolve the issue. Attached the edited file here, as a reference for any other person. basically what we did here is to hyperlink a menu that appears when we hovering over the link/button. and at the same time, the button itself have its own hyperlink which can lead to other pages.
as a reference to others, you may want to download the zip file below, and extract. double click on the my website.htm and hover through the link
