Re: Microsoft Front Page

I haven't used Frontpage fo nearly 8 years so I am not familier with it. I cannot give exact settings. However, you should have all the content of your website in it's own dedicated directory on your computer.

Then when you upload the website, you only upload the CONTENTS of the website directory, not the directory itself.

===============================================
Side note:
Without delay and as a matter of urgency, DELETE from the SERVER (not your computer) what you have uploaded from your Documents & Settings File as it may contain personal & private (banking etc) details which would/could be invaluable to an Identity Theft Fraudsters. Under no circumstances should you reveal your web address to anyone until you have taken this safeguard.

To impress the importance of this, if I knew just the web address, I could download all those private details within a few seconds, whats more, I wouldn't need your user name or your password either! Easy as that. - If I can do that, so can others.

Re: Microsoft Front Page

ok, after you delete every thing off your server, you should go to your documents and settings, it says you run xp so i assume you will have the same stuff in documents and settings as me, you should select every thing by hitting ctrl+a then go to any folders with the name you used for the user of the pc eg for me it is Impact Green, with this folder i whant you to hit ctrl then click it, if you have more then one user do this to the folder with the names on it then you need to locate the folder labeled All Users and hit ctrl then click it, i am making a large assumption here that you have enabled view hidden folders, now you need to search for a semi-transparent folder called Default User you need to once again hit ctrl then click it. these folders should now be deselected, and your website selected, i now whant you to hit cut, then i whant you to right click on your desktop and hit make new folder, label this 'My Website' and i then whant you to open this and hit paste, you should now have your whole website on your desktop, just upload the contents of this folder to your website, not the whole folder

if any problems occur please pm me

Hope you don't mind me mentioning it , but by taking the thread to a PM will deprive others from learning the answers too. IMHO, you should only PM if it is going off topic.

Regards
