script for my website wont keep background from repeating ?tried everything

im having a problem with my script on my website i have my own script and i moved it to a new web provider and for some reason its not keeping the background in fixed mode and it doesnt let it scroll up and down without moving the background the main problem is the background repeats and i did everything i could to put the scripts sfor that in that layout script for my site but its still not budgeing and i dont want to mess up my script so is there a tech that could help me by me sending them the script to look at it in private message and see what can be done if anyone could help i would fully appreciate it thank you so much, Aimee

What type of script are you using??

It should be pretty easy using CSS to make the background fill the whole page and repeat.

So, what you are saying is that you want the background to stay fixed so the seashells stay in the same place and not move when you scroll the text up and down??

well that is what i need but i dont know how to keep the white space in the corner from showing i just want it to shsow the background so where it stops doesnt show but i dont know its confuseing to me now and i had a color scrollbar up and everything but thats not even working now. i had my script originally on geocities and they had that annoying ad in the corner well recently they put it to where you cant remove that ad where as before you could put a script code in your script and it wouldnt show up on your site but i got tired of it put it on a new web provider and now the scrollbar coloring isnt showing even though its written in my website script ive tried to put new codes in to help it but then i end up screwing it up so then i have to reset the site so im not very html inclined my brother helped me make the website layout.

yes! that is better than it was before and i soo appreciate it i feel like crying because i almost gave up is there a way to get the script for that to show up on my website and afterwards is there a way to delete my entry of the script code so body can steal it? thank you so much for all that you have done.

I also tidied your HTML and CSS up a bit.

In regards to no-one stealing it, there are many ways such as encoding the HTML but people can always get round it if they decode the HTML.
HTML is always visible if you look at the source code of the website. (View > Source)

You may also want to consider making a copy of the pictures to your hosting instead of hotlinking them from other servers.

Also, I found it very hard to read the text where you have the functions which make the text opaque. You may like this feature but im saying my eyes found it difficult to read.

In the text area to the right, as you add more text, the box will get the scrolling bar down the side.

it looks great all it needs is a darker text which is easy for me to figure out how to change because the font is to bright and hardly can be read. thank you so for your help. as of right now my computer is having problems with my activex a couple of days ago it was not a displaying background colors and scrolls then my husband fixed it but now its not displaying videos or flash windows. it all has to do with activex or directx if you search my posting history you can see what i had the problem with. thank you for all of your help and support and much blessings for your christmas holidays and new years. much appreciation, aimee

i just checked with the link that you sent earlier to preview and it works but when i click my website it says that its aborted. i was wondering if you get the chance if you could see the result on yours if there is any difference from the preview earlier.

it is pulling up but the problem is its not diplaying the frames as transparent and the frame is going up to far for the links and i think its maybe just my computer because of the problemss and errors we've been having im sure it displays normal on other browsers it shows normal on internet explorer but it closes it out becauses of the error i recieve. so i dont know maybe i should switch webserver providers like a free one that wont be messed up looking because your preview link shows up normal in both my windows.

Well, the frames wont show as transparent as I removed the Active X code for them incase it was crashing the browser loading.

Unless you have uploaded the file to a different place, I am still getting an aborted error when I load the site with Internet Explorer.

So, as you can probably see from the link I sent, it opens fine in both Firefox and IE from my servers so I can only presume that it is a problem with Freewebs, which is out of my control.

lavendarcharm Registered User Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: amarillo Posts: 13 OS: windows xp	Re: script for my website wont keep background from repeating ?tried everything it is pulling up but the problem is its not diplaying the frames as transparent and the frame is going up to far for the links and i think its maybe just my computer because of the problemss and errors we've been having im sure it displays normal on other browsers it shows normal on internet explorer but it closes it out becauses of the error i recieve. so i dont know maybe i should switch webserver providers like a free one that wont be messed up looking because your preview link shows up normal in both my windows.

Unless you have uploaded the file to a different place, I am still getting an aborted error when I load the site with Internet Explorer. So, as you can probably see from the link I sent, it opens fine in both Firefox and IE from my servers so I can only presume that it is a problem with Freewebs, which is out of my control. __________________ Submit New Articles Here
