need program to put black stripes on faces in videos
hi...i'm not sure if this is the right thread..but i need a program (freeware) which can "lay" black stripes on people's faces in videos, like they do on tv when they want to hide identities. Anyone help?

if there is such a software, it definitely won't be free. The software would have to scan the movie as it plays and try to pick up the faces of any person in it. Image recognition software is still experimental and isn't free so I'm sure if there is a movie recognition software, it won't be cheap.

I was hoping that I could find something less complex, such as marking an area on the screen, or mark "frame-by-frame". I filmed something compromizing about local authorities and I want to make it public on the Internet, without exposing innocent people.

You'll need a movie editor: http://openmovieeditor.sourceforge.net/HomePage You can TRY this - I've never edited movies before and am not qualified to give anything more. You'll obviously have to edit each frame but it shouldn't take much time once you get used to it. Post the finished result when you're done! |

thanks Redcore, i'll see what it can do...i think i'll use those "text overlay" and "mute for original sound" options and see what I get. I'll post the result, no doubt..still, if anyone finds out about other alternative software, please let me know.
later edit: the program is linux version, seemingly..there is no set up or exe file. It won't work on my windows pc! Last edited by johnney; 09-06-2007 at 03:31 PM. |

Have you tried Windows Movie Maker? You might have to do the frame-by-frame overlay, but it might be enough.
