Hey,

Warning: fetch_config() [function.include]: Failed opening 'e:\domains\d\dj-ultra.co.uk\user\htdocs\tesy1/includes/config.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:\php4\pear') in e:\domains\d\dj-ultra.co.uk\user\htdocs\tesy1\includes\class_core.php on line 2343

Configuration: includes/config.php does not exist. Please fill out the data in config.php.new and rename it to config.php
Can someone tell me what it means please?

Re: Help , Im Lost

Right now there is a file in the includes folder called "config.new" - you have to open it up, change the info they want inside (probably stuff like connecting to your database) and then RESAVE it as "config.php"

Updated, renamed, and sent back.

Create a database in MySQL named "forum", upload this to the "includes" folder - and you should be good to go.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: Help , Im Lost

A) Did you create a new database named "forum" ?
B) Did you setup the forum through their installation pages? (read the FAQ to find them)
C) Is the MySQL server port 3306? (unlikely that it is something else, but worth checking if you fix the above and still can't get it going)

I'm not sure what you mean by the test stuff...or why you'd be testing forum software.

Re: Help , Im Lost

You have to make a database...how do you expect it to work atm without a database? It's PHP/database driven...

Re: Help , Im Lost

Why not just make it in a "forum" folder instead - it's hard for people to remember something like "/new-forum"

I was telling you that you have to CREATE a database for the forum. That is how everything is stored (users, posts, permissions, etc)

It's not a big deal - we all have to learn. I'm sure I was more of a pain when I was learning how to do things. :)

Anyways if it bothered me, I wouldn't be here! :P

Re: Help , Im Lost

The forum has to be installed. There should be an installation file included...check the FAQ to find out where it is.
