Dreamweaver 8 Behaviors Question

Hello,

I am trying to create a field where I can type in a search word and then open a new browser with 3 tabs that have search results using IE7.

For instance. Lets say I type Roadrunner in a text field, when I press the search button, I want a new window to open with the following URL links, one on each tab:

Code:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=roadrunner
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=roadrunner&form=QBRE
http://search.aol.com/aol/search?invocationType=topsearchbox.search&query=roadrunner
In place of roadrunner in each of the links above, I want to insert the value of the text box on that page.

Does this make sense?

There is a behaviour called open browser window, but I do not see a good way on the properties to do this. I am thinking I will need to call Javascript. I have no idea how to write the Javascript though.

Anyone think they can help?

Drue

Re: Dreamweaver 8 Behaviors Question

Here's a way to do it...let me know if this is what you wanted and if this works out for you.

search.php
PHP Code:
<?
if(isset($textfield)){ echo ?>
<head>
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">

function openresults()
      {
window.open ('http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=<? echo $textfield?>');
window.open ('http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=<? echo $textfield?>&form=QBRE');
window.open ('http://search.aol.com/aol/search?invocationType=topsearchbox.search&query=<? echo $textfield?>')
     }
</SCRIPT>
</head>

<body onload="openresults()">
</body>
</html>
<? ;} ?>

<form id="fieldform" name="fieldform" method="post" action="test.php">
  <label>
  <input type="text" name="textfield" value="<? if(isset($textfield)){ echo $textfield;} ?>" />
  </label>
  <label>
  <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit" />
  </label>
</form>
The downside of what you're doing is that most popup blockers are going to block those 3 loading pages unless the user tells them not to. I'm using FireFox and after I told it to allow my host, it works fine.

Let me know if you have any questions :)
