Lunarpages?

Hi all,

I'm kinda new to website development so I was wondering if you can let me know if Lunarpages is sufficient for my needs, or overkill?

I'm hosting a simple informational website for our accounting firm, no e-commerce stuff (yet), just trying to make our company known. I want to set up emails for our folks, using a common email we can all access, and private emails for each of our workers.

I saw Lunarpages on Gotapex.com with what seems like a good deal? Does anyone here have some experience with them? What are the pros and cons?

Thanks,

Greg

Re: Lunarpages?

I'm looking at some reviews and they seem reliable. I'd recommend GoDaddy rather than Lunarpages, however, because they have a hosting plan for less money that would better fit your situation.

Re: Lunarpages?

Thanks for the info! I got a domain registered with Godaddy and I was told by a friend that it was better to choose another company as a host, and not lump in everything with the same company.

Re: Lunarpages?

He was probably referring to reliability - which is something you don't have to worry about with GoDaddy. I currently own 5 or so domains, and I use their deluxe hosting. I'm very pleased with their services and you can't beat their customer service.

I think the best choice for you would be GoDaddy's economy plan. However, if you want lunar pages they aren't looking too shabby.

Re: Lunarpages?

LunarPages tech support via email is turned into total garbage (it's off-shore - India and Kazakstan). Support was very good several years ago, but they've grown and support hasn't kept up. You need to go back and forth with about 10 emails before it gets redirected to someone who knows what they are talking about. The LunarPages Forum is sad too, because they purge any comments that indicate there might be some problem, and black list the poster.

Re: Lunarpages?

Any updates on Lunarpages? I heard a lot of positive things about them and I need a host pronto.

Re: Lunarpages?

They seem to be legit to me and if it is of any interest to you the following is a review from a customer who used Lunarpages services for a long time so hope it offers you help in making your choice.

Browse around here... it's free, and the search options are pretty sweet. You can even have your own ads on some of them--which is a lot of them actually--or ad-free, lots of space, lots of bandwith, lots of pretty much everything.
