Problems with basetarget
I am currently using Internet Explorer 7.0 and am having a problem with the <basetarget=" "> html command when the same html works perfectly with Internet Explorer 6.0
Basically, I've got four frames on my webpage, one with links to other portions of my web page, one that displays the page that the user is currently in, and two frames with images that always stay the same. In the frame that has all of the webpage's links, there is a basetarget command so that when the user clicks a link from the links frame, the page will open in the main frame of the webpage. Using IE 6.0, everything works smoothly, but while using IE 7.0, the basetarget command is completely ignored and the link opens in the wrong frame. (Instead of opening in the main portion of the webpage) I scanned the rest of this forum and didn't see anyone else having the same problem, so I posted here. Thank you, in advance, for your help. |

Re: Problems with basetarget
Have you tried naming your main frame with the name="" attribute then using target="name of main target" in your links?

Re: Problems with basetarget
The IE6 to IE7 transition should be smooth. Give Zep's advice a go despite parentheses not making too much difference. Then again, the correct answer is the most simplest answer.

Re: Problems with basetarget
Of course those are attributes, sorry for not explaining. Place the name="" attribute inside the <frame> tag. Place the target="" attribute in the <a> tag.
