Web development help needed
I want to design a web page that users can log into and change the text and possibly even images in certain areas. I’d like to be able to restrict them to a word count and image size and changes depending on the area they are editing.
Reason behind this is I need a way for some very computer illiterate people to log on and update the page as needed. I’m hoping for a way that they can just type in what they want, hit save, and the page updates itself. Is this possible, and if so what do I need? I’ve got Dreamweaver 8 and my server uses PHP/MySQL. |

Re: Web development help needed
Also, I've seen a few Web Content Management Systems out there, but they are really expensive. I'm just looking for a way to make my own. Unless there are some open source versions.

A wiki would be perfect for you. Download the latest stable release of MediaWiki from http://www.mediawiki.org.

I second that. Wiki would be the way to go without doing it all manually.
