Grin Need a little extra help on unstanding URL's

Hay folks, I am still a bit hung up on understanding URL's and what and how they work.

I wrote on another thread that I was trying to upload my avatar onto a forum site I belong to. Can some one give me a good example of how I would take a avatar from my system and up load it to a forum site.

I would also like to know how would I place a example drawing or sketch on a thread I am talking with some one about a subject as a explaination drawing such as Using the picture Icon above?

What is "PHP"? God Bless DC

- The URL is the address of the page you are at on the internet.

- I guess you can't upload an avatar until you hit 500+ post or have donated to the site.

- Use the attachment option. See attachment. Click the paperclip button and then upload it from your computer or copy the URL where it is at.

Has I understand that a avatar I have on my computer Has an URL That I can use to transfer it to a Website forum as a upload, it not this site. I guess what I am looking for is what does this URL look like.
God Bless DC.

My System

Hi DC, an avatar on your computer doesn't have a url. Usually on a forum in your control panel they will have a browse button to upload your own avatar. You browse through your computer to where it is and then click upload. Once that is done it will become your avatar.
If you don’t find an upload option you would have to open a free account at photobucket or somewhere like it. You go through the same process to upload your picture. This is where it gets different. It will then have a url, a http:// followed by your account name ant the picture name. You would copy this http address over to the forum and paste it in the box where it would say url of your picture.
Every picture on the net has a url. You can see these by right clicking any picture and selecting properties. This will show you the address of where the picture is hosted.

Hello Devil Girl, "Thank you, thank you, thank you" Now! that make sence to me. I know it had to sink in there sooner or later if I got the right professor to explain it.

So whaat you said was to right click on a picture,(which I did) and then properties (which I did) and this whole thing is the URL address (http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c5...il/visarts.gif) right?

Question

Now I have another dummy question that fails inline with this;

Been trying the upload a new avatar to this forum, but I can not quick figure out how to get it to upload the avatar to this forum and change it on my profile. I was able to get it on my personal profile, but that ant where it goes. So How do I get it to let me customize my personel avatar?
