how to create a forum
hi there.hi have to create a website with a forum for my school project but i dont know how to add a forum to a website. i heard there is something called php which is a software. i think i want a forum just like this one. it will be used for a church organization. can someone please tell me how to do this. i need a step by step guide cause im new to this whole web development thing.

thers a free forum based on Perl but php is the best at forums and such. phpbb is propably ur best shot and as gamerman stated none of us will make it for u ... wel guide u where to find information on how to make it

Seeing as this is a school thing, I'd reccomend Vanilla. It is very costumizable, and open source. If you style it yourself, it'll fit with your own site and it can be embedded into the site, which is always preferable to a phpBB forum, which doesn't really add anything to your site in a school project.

I personally like http://www.forumotion.com. It's not a downloadable type of forum, but it is very customizable, easy to use, and if you know what you are doing you can make a damn good looking board.
