Trouble watching movies
I have Windows XP Home Edition, I recently reformated my computer with that and afterwards, its not letting me watch any videos on my comp. I've tried using Windows Media Player 10, Realplayer, Quicktime, DivX... they all do the same thing. It just loads the video very very very slow until it just stops and then my entire computer slows down considerably, to the point where I can't even shut windows down properly, I have to manually shut it down.
My graphics card, audio card, everything was reinstalled after I reformated so thats not the problem. I don't know what else it could be, any help? |

what are the file types? did they play with the media player before the format?
did you try running the video clip while connected to the internet? windows media player might automatically download a codec to decompress and play it.

You have two options to run with:
Download Ace Mega Codec Pack or Download VLC Player (Codecs all In Built)

Well, its not the codec. I installed both of those and my computer did the same thing each time. I think my video driver needs to be updated, but I can't find the driver update for a GeForce 6200 graphics card by NVidia.

try testing the display using dxdiag. goto start>run then type dxdiag in there. goto the display tab and test directdraw and direct3d.
right click on the desktop and goto properties>settings>advanced>quadro. does the adapter info match what the card should be operating at?

I ran both tests and they were both found with no problems at all.

Is what the card is advertised to do reflected in the description it gives?
www.nvidia.com will have the drivers you need for the 6200.
