new to graphics.. where to start?
Well I might as well be new.. I took a duel enrollment class 2 years ago in high school that used 3ds Max which was pretty awesome....
Right now I'm going to school for networking but I really love art/graphics design/animation, So my question is.. what programs are best to start off with... I'm interested in graphics like anime style or just like wallpaper-esque... I understand that making models/pictures is way different than making an animation, so when it comes to just models/pictures what is the most user friendly or perhaps has the most documentation/tutorials.. that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg :D Sorry I'm not more specific.. my lack of experience in the field makes it kinda hard haha Thanks

Re: new to graphics.. where to start?
if your looking for 3d stuff. There are tons of good programs but not many good cheap ones. Your best bet really is 3d studio max to get the most tutorials and such. There is a new program out called Vbrush but that wont be cheap at all and very new

Quote:
This documentary shows Hayao Miyazaki behind the scenes, working on Princess Mononoke (mostly good old fashioned pen and paper). Video 9 of the 14 clips shows the painted frames being filmed, so they probably don't use computers very much, at least not for this film.

Re: new to graphics.. where to start?
Ah yeah! i didn't even think to check the special features of the films haha xD I'll check them out when I get home!
I figured as much though, that they wouldn't use computer animation haha
