Creating an Internet Radio Station

Hello everyone I'm new and I just wanted to say hello before jumping so. So... HELLO! Now on to the questions:

I am trying to start an internet radio station (for talk only and then later to add video tutorials). I have designed a server (details below) but I need to know what kind of personnel I would need to maintain the station.

Some of the shows would be live streaming but the vast majority are podcasting. I know I would need assistance but I don't know what kind: systems admin, IT tech, webmaster or what?

Thanks people.

Current Server Configuration:
Processor: Quad-Core 2.83 GHz
Operating System: Windows 2008 Std Ed x64
Bandwidth: 2000GB
Hard Drive(s): Dual 300 GB Drives / Dedicated Hosting Raid 1
RAM: 8GB
Database: MS SQL Standard Edition

Re: Creating an Internet Radio Station

Hello,
So as i take it you just want to stream video as well as a podcast? Well, if you want a podcast i would probly go through itunes(my opinion), so you would want to read up on it (http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html). also, if you want to do some live streaming i would suggest livestream(http://www.livestream.com/). Those are your 2 best bets there, i don't know if you can combined both of them.

maybe there is somebody else that wants to put in some input?

Re: Creating an Internet Radio Station

Thanks for the info. I pretty much have all of that (and a few others as well). I think what I'm trying to find out is this:

If I am busy running the finance department, managing hosts, seeking sponsors, hosting two of the proposed shows and completing a manuscript for my publisher (as well as attending signings) I need to have the right personnel to maintain the station and all the required maintenance, archiving, uploading /downloading, etc.

I don't know what type of personnel is needed nor are there any specialized skills sets other than standard IT abilities (or something completely different). So it comes down not being what I need or even how to do it but who I need to maintain it's day-to-day operations.

Thanks again.
