Personal favourites for picture editing?

Hey guys, I'm thinking of making a 'signature / avatar' for my character of the game that I play...but I am not sure what program to use.

What are your favourite image editing programs?

Most people will probably reply with Photoshop, so I'm gonna add favourite free image editing programs :D

Write back..

Re: Personal favourites for picture editing?

Yes, GIMP and Paint.net are both very popular free image editors, so there are hundreds of video tutorials on YouTube, Google Video and other sites.

Re: Personal favourites for picture editing?

I've used both (as well as Photoshop), and found Paint.net to be the easiest to use. This is just personal preference though, so try them both to see which you prefer.

Re: Personal favourites for picture editing?

I've used both GIMP and Paint.net. I'd have to say that, between the two, GIMP is my personal favorite.

Re: Personal favourites for picture editing?

hey, i know it isn't free, but Adobe Fireworks is a brilliant bit of software, as it does vector and bitmap editing, and is almost as easy to use as paint (the rubbishy little one that comes with windoze)
