adobe after effects cs3

ok well basically i already had a high quality video and i imported it into after effects then when i exported the video the quality was shocking, i need it to be the best quality no matter what the file size is, im making a tv commercial (Australia) and i need the best please reply asap as i need it finished in the next few days, thanks

Check your export settings and play around with them.

What is your input video? and What are you exporting it as?

eg. NTSC/PAL, Frame rates, Frame Size, and format etc...

The best quality video files will be either .mov or .avi formats. make sure all the other settings match your input video so that you don't compress the video when exporting. hope this helps.

It probably has to do with quality and codec settings. Pick uncompressed (or a lossless codec) during your intermediate editing, then for the final video, pick a lossy codec (I recommend something like MPEG-4/DivX/Xvid, or H.264 if you have it), then play with the settings until you get an appropriate quality/filesize tradeoff. Also be careful with things like resizing and de-interlacing. If done improperly, quality can suffer.
