3DS Max

Hi everyone, I’m starting to do 3D graphics and I’m concentrating in the software of 3DS Max, and concentrating on nature scenes modeling animation.

I need help on how to do water animation. I already know how to animate water like a realistic sea and lightings, but I don’t know how to do water ripples or for example... the ripples created when u walk on shallow waters. what I want to make the water react to the movements of a 3D character like a human walking in a sewage or animal drinking water in a river...
Please if anyone can give me any tips or tutorials to fallow, I will appreciate it allot!

Re: 3DS Max

Wow!, is a lot of reading for sure, and thanks for all of the web pages you had shared with me, it will help me to make my way to create this amazing 3d graphic, slowly but hopefully surely i will create this water ripples that react to the objects movements... thank you very much Cori. But if anyone have any other tip that can also help me, please share with me here at this website, so other people that wants to improve themselves, it could also help them. But thanks again Cori, and thanks in advance for further information.

Re: 3DS Max

With REACTOR you can create some convincing wave systems, as well as simulate many other water effects.

Re: 3DS Max

If you type in "water" into the 3ds max reference index field, that should get you on your way...reactor comes with max ;)

I've been using max for years and still find the user reference helpful.
