Corel paint shop pro X2 ultimate fault

Hi I recently bought Corel PSP X2 in a bundle with Video studio 2.
Sadly I am unable to use it as only half the facilities appear on screen.
I have a adequate memory (1gb) and hd of 300gb with a kick ar**
graphics card all in all a decent machine running Win XP home version.

Despite loading it several times from scratch nothing changes.
When opening from the menu bars functions are blank so can't use any
tools. Could there be a confliction of sorts?.

I have other graphic progs on board.
Any advice much appreciated

So when you open the program (no image open) the menus are blank - then if you go to File > open, locate an image and open an image the menus stay blank?
