[SOLVED] Correcting filming mistakes to do some chroma keying (greenscreening) in Veg
Hey All,
I was wondering if anybody has any pointers for an amateur video editor like me. Yesterday I did some filming in front of a blue wall so that I can do a chroma key to create an interesting background. In the daylight the little experiment worked out fine. Now when we no longer had the sunlight to help us we ran into a bit of a lighting issue and I ended up using a few lights to light the subject. I made a few mistakes; their was a huge shadow behind the subject, and I used a digital camera that in this kind of lighting had a lot of noise. Is there any way for me to clean up the background to prepare for chroma keying? Editing stills in Adobe Imageready seems to work, but its not an ideal solution. I attached an image of the original source and a gif with the source, mask, and the source already keyed in. Just trying to fix this mess, or learn for the next time.

Re: Correcting filming mistakes to do some chroma keying (greenscreening) in Vegas 7.
Well I somewhat figured out how to make it work.
I went ahead and used a mask instead of chroma keying so that I would not rely on the green screen. It is drawn with anchor points to pull off the same effect that the chroma key has. The main challenge lied with a moving subject. I somewhat used automation to create multiple mask depending on where the subject was in relation to the timeline. It worked out OK. Now I know for next time, lighting is everything.
