[SOLVED] Colored Gradient shading in CS3

Can anyone hellp me add colored gradient shading in Illustrator CS3.

I found an on-line tutorial that instructs you to switch to gradient fill on the menu bar, then choose your color(s) on the sliding gradient line. No matter how I do it, every time I choose gradient, the color palette goes away. If I choose the color palette, gradient shading disappears.

CS3 doesn't want me to have both!!!

Please help!

Re: Colored Gradient shading in CS3

Thanks for helping.

I finally found a great on-line tutorial that showed how you can open up the swatches panel and just drag the color you want onto the gradient color stops.

I just needed to figure out that I have to undock the two panels to keep them open at the same time.

Able to do colored gradient shading now.
