Sony Vegas timeline frame freezing
Hey Guys,
For the past 2 weeks+ I've been recording WoW clips with Xfire and FRAPS and have been recording for the past few days. This morning I was working on it for 4 hours and randomly decided to start watching the movie from the beginning to see how everything was and any transitions I may have missed. While watching, the first frame of a clip towards the start of the movie became the entire clip. Music kept going as well as comments I made, but the clip would just stay locked on that one frame... then the next few clips would work fine and then it would go back to that original first frame that froze and play it for another whole clip. It has the same frame on the timeline and preview window. So basically.. i play the movie.. Clip A works..Clip B works... but Clip C only plays the first frame of Clip C(even though it worked fine yesterday).. I keep playing the movie... Clip D will work, but Clip E will play that very first frame which froze in Clip C. Clip C's frozen frame applies to all other bugged clips. I have not changed any of the file directories or removed anything. I have restarted my computer several times as well as closing and reopening Vegas. I've put over 15 hours into editing this video so far.. would REALLY not enjoy redoing it all. Anyone have any ideas? |

Re: Sony Vegas timeline frame freezing
If it is a longish movie maybe your computer specs aren't up to the job - what RAM, processor and video card are you using? It sounds as if you may not have enough grunt to run Vegas efficiently for larger movies.
Post your system specs and lets see. if this is the case you can try rendering/exporting portions of the movie at a time then put them together after they have been compressed (and are therefore smaller file size).

Re: Sony Vegas timeline frame freezing
Nope.. the movie is only 8 minutes long atm and im using my brand new computer(got it 2 weeks ago.. radeon 4770 512mb video card, intel duo e8400 @ 3ghz, 2gb of ram).. so, pretty decent computer.
I torrented another Sony Vegas(8.0, was using 7) and it seems to have somewhat fixed itself.. still pretty messed up though. |
