Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and am so impressed with how everyone helps everyone! Really great to see. I recently bought a Canon FS100 camcorder (flash memory). ImageMixer 3 is bundled with it but the user guide PDF hangs and there's no help via the software itself, so there's no way to learn how to use it. I went to the pixela site, but they don't have any customer service available (literally!), not even a contact us button! So, what I'm looking for is either a working copy of the user guide (ImageMixe.pdf) or a viable alternative to the software. Something that is compatible with the Canon fs100, can transfer video from the flash memory via USB, and is really good for editing video with minimal or no loss of quality (the Pixela website warns that there will be a visible loss of quality when using their software!) Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated! Tia, Joannakat

Re: ImageMixer problems
Imagemixer does not have a good name for support or ease of use - see the number of threads on this and other forums asking for help with it.
For my recommendations for reasonably priced yet effective video editing software have a look at these two: Adobe Premiere Elements 7 A very efficient and powerful editing suite that allows multiple audio, multiple video tracks (and therefore layering with differing opacity), Picture in Picture, green-screening, many transitions and effects, ability to burn straight to DVD from within the software, post to Youtube from within the software and much more. Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition 9 again multiple tracks for audio and video (only 4 of each - compared to Adobe's 99), Picture in Picture, green-screening, many transitions and effects Both accept input from a range of file formats and output a similar range, both are relatively easy to use but offer powerful editing capabilities. I prefer Adobe - mainly because I started on Adobe and have used Photoshop for years so am familiar with Adobe layouts and terms. Download a trial version and try them out - best way to see which suits your way of working.

Re: ImageMixer problems
Thank you! I"ll look into both of them. Meanwhile, I found a software guide workaround--opened the guide and printed it. It prints without problem.
Thanks again. If anyone has any recommendations for freeware, that would be greatly appreciated too as I am a starving student :-) |
