problem with Maya

I'm not sure if this is the right place to do this but I'm in a hurry and really need help.

I'm animating a project in maya and I'm having problems. The major issue is that when I try to move a joint to keyframe it it moves that joint in every frame throughout the entire animation (previous frames and the ones that come after).

The animation is of a sheep and the problems I am having is with when I move it's leg in say frame 5 even before keying it it moves that leg into that same position on every other frame starting with 1 and continuing through the end. I have no idea why it's doing this.

I'm new to maya and this was a group project so the models and skeletons were made by someone else so I'm not entirely sure what they did or if that could be the issue.

Hi, Creamsodajunkie. Welcome to TSF.

Here's a protip: Use your own bones, they become really handy later on.
