Adobe CS 4 Problem - Cannot export files

For some reason in CS4 when I export a file it doesn't show up in the folder I exported it too. CS4 will complete the export process 100% yet the file does not appear in the directory. Does anyone have any ideas?

does the file appear in another directory?

No it doesn't. I think there may be an issue with my Adobe Media Encoder as it does not launch when attempting to export.
