Re: weird sound after converting
What audio settings are you using when you convert? post back with the:
codec used bitrate and/or sample rate have you got any effects selected when playing back - eg: you can have your computer set to play back with auditorium, hallway etc as effects

Re: weird sound after converting
thanks for the reply. i only have the klite codec pack on my computer period. i don't know if the programs use that or its own. ashampoo doesn't have any bitrate settings or anything like that. you just pick the format and convert. thats why i like it so much. zune converter does has all of that stuff but i don't change anything because i don't change anything on my brother's computer with the same two programs and it works fine. my sound settings are correct cause i can watch it before its converted and its fine. however, these are the only two converter programs that has worked period for me. all of the other ones gave me the illegal program error instantly upon clicking the convert button due to my low memory. i have a hp pavilion 514n with 256mb memory. could that be the problem?

It may be that your computer is not correctly converting because of low memory - unsure of that one though. On what does your audio sound wrong - computer or zune device? If your computer check your audio settings: Go to Start > settings > control panel then open "sounds and audio devices" check in the "speaker volume" > "advanced" that you have the setup that matches what speakers you are using and also click on the performance tab while there and check that the sample rate is set to best and hardware acceleration set to full. With some onboard sound there is also a setting in "volume" > advanced > properties that allows you to select an effect such as auditorium, hallway, cave etc. check to see if this is so on your computer. If it is on your zune device - check around for settings there - I don't have one so can't really help you there.

Re: weird sound after converting
i'm sorry for not posting, i've been working late the past couple of days. i haven't figured out a problem yet. after i convert the video, its like that on the computer and when i sync it over. the original will play fine but the converted file still sounds like that. i've uinstalled all of the converter programs that won't work on my computer, i just have ashampoo shrink and burn and imtoo zune converter so i don't have a screenshot but its the "the program has performed an illegal operation and needs to close" error message. i'm gonna post a video i converted on youtube tonight so yall can hear what i'm talking about.
