DivX File With Menu Etc

Hello,

I have a DivX file on my PC which has a menu system that allows me to choose a different episode.
The file itself is approximately 1 GB in size.

If I play this on my PC, I obviously get the menu etc, and can choose which episode I wish to watch.

How can I convert this to watch on my home DVD player so it will also have the menu's etc?

I've already tried ConvertXto DVD, but this has simply took across the episodes as one long file, which means I can't choose which one I want, I have to fast forward through.

Hi, welcome to TSF

If you created this DivX file yourself rather than downloading, you can create a DVD by converting the orignal video files.

If you've downloaded the file from a website, contact them for instructions.

If you've downloaded copyrighted TV episodes via P2P, we can't help.

Hi Koala,

No it's not copyrighted material or anything like that.
Basically it's videos of all of my children throughout their childhood.

It was created for me by a friend, but apparently they no longer have the original video files due to a computer crash.

Sorry I'm not really up on all of this, I'm just going on what I've been told.

Re: DivX File With Menu Etc

You can convert the DivX file to VOB (which is the format used by DVDs). Then, using your DVD authoring software, recreate the menu. This way you can have a relevant screenshot or image for each menu item and change the titles if required.

As they are valuable family videos, I recommend you make several copies of the original master DivX file and the newly created DVD, and store them in a cool, dark place.

EDIT: You might find this Convert a DivX or XviD AVI to DVD useful, if a little complicated. There are probably easier methods, so hang on for some more replies from our video experts.
