My specs acer laptop 1.8 gig 80gb 512 ram winXp sp2 Here is my question: Is it possible to copy my homemade dvd movies to my hard disk so that i could edit the footage. Is there a program, preferably freeware that could do this or do i need to buy some sort of hardware Many thanks ![]() |

Re: converting dvd for editing
for video editing you can try virtualdub. i've only used it twice, but it did what i needed. as for copying the .vob files to the HD, you should be able to drag and drop them. only © material is not drag and dropable to the HD.

Re: converting dvd for editing
If you find you don't like Virtual Dub, are going to do a bit of editing in the future and don't mind spending a little bit of money try Adobe Premiere Elements - lots of editing power for not a great deal of money.
