Software for 3D Chat Items

What software do I need to create 3D characters and models, such as clothing and stickers for homepages and different rooms, like those on IMVU 3D chat world.

3DS Max, Maya, Lightwave, Blender, etc.

just reading a little on 3d world and apparently the software you are looking for would be on daz3d. hexagon in particular, but i've never used any of this.

Daz Studio would be a good start. I use it for basic stuff as i prefer to power of 3DS Max. It's free, though! I have hexagon but haven't tried it out yet...
