Graphics Editing Software

Can anyone recommend a graphics editing program that is more advanced than Paint but less complicated then Adobe Photoshop, it needs to be suitable for children of ages 9 to 13 year olds to use in an educational setting.

Paint.NET (not to be confused with Microsoft Paint)

Corel Paint Shop Pro maybe - that is what we have on all comps at our school

photoshop elements is a good one.
