Time Line Rendering
I have recently transferred (Copied) a quite large project to a bigger hard disk drive, and although the project has successfully copied into the timeline, I now find I am unable to render the project, although the Pinnacle Instant Video RT window is telling me that the Project Needs Rendering!! Can anyone help me out please?
Operating system Windows XP Pro, Pinnacle DV 500 Plus, and Adobe Premier 6.5. |

Re: Time Line Rendering
did you copy all the relevant files (original video and audio files used in the timeline) with the project file? Project files only make links to the original files until rendered.

Re: Time Line Rendering
Zuluclayman,
Thanks for that - all files copied with the project. I understand a possible cause might be that the project is too big, and needs to be broken down into smaller pieces!! Have you been involved in such an operation, and if so do you have a step by step guide on the process which I would hope does not entail having to re-edit completely? Any help at all would be welcome. |

Re: Time Line Rendering
What happens when you attempt to render the project? Do you get an error message? If so what does it say?
I am not fully familiar with the version of Premiere that you are using - I use Premiere Elements2 and have transferred large projects from main comp to laptop a number of times with success. I assume you edited mainly in Premiere? If so had you rendered any of the timeline before transferring the project? If so, when you transferred the project files did you take the Premiere folder that stores the rendered files? they have file names such as "Rendered - 0de56b1d-11b5-480a-af54-066acf9c4059" and are saved in a preview folder within the Adobe folder that has your other project files. If not try to locate them and transfer them to your drive you are now using for the project. |

Re: Time Line Rendering
Zuluclayman,
Yes, all of the editing was carried out within Premier 6.5, and the timeline had been rendered as I went along. When the project was transferred as files, the Adobe preview folder was also transferred, and I've looked in this but am unable to find any reference to files "Rendered" etc, etc. As a matter of interest, I've also looked in other drives for any mention, but no luck at all!! Many thanks anyway! |
