Photoshop Question, new user. . .

What is the burn tool in CS2/CS3.....what does it do for an image? (please be descriptive).

Burn tool will darken the image that you brush over, for example.

You have a photo on your first day of holiday, your very untanned and lok like a lemon, ghost, go over your skin with the burn tool, you now have a wonderful tan.

The last two took care of your question. If you're curious, dodge/burn are darkroom film developing terms. When you burn an area, you expose it to more light. When you dodge an area, you shield an area from light while the rest is exposed.

A question with no answer for the photographers... If you develop an image and cover exactly half the image are you dodging or burning?
