Video editing software

Hi everybody

My girlfriend has created a slideshow of pictures and movies using windows movie maker...however, due to low system specs (512 ram) and due to the MASSIVE weight of the presentation (181 mb) it takes alot of time to open (around 10 minutes) and it is impossible to save it in video format, as the system freezes...

Now, I was thinking to split the project in 4 parts and save each of them in video format...however I need a video joiner to paste the whole movie again...could you suggest me one? Easy to use and freeware if possible

Thanks
