CorelDraw10 circular image with no background

I have an image of an old 45 which I created in CorelDraw. I don't want to have any background attached to it. BUT it has a white square around it.

Is there anyway to crop the square away and save only the round record image?

Thanks

Re: CorelDraw10 circular image with no background

Hi Diane, welcome to TSF

I haven't used CorelDraw for a while so I can't give you specific instructions, just a point in the right direction. You need to select the background area/layer or background colour and change it from white to transparent.

What format are you saving the finished image in? (tif, bmp, jpg, gif)

Is the image flat or made up of layers?

Re: CorelDraw10 circular image with no background

I will save the image in anything that will leave off the background. I had tried bitmap with the background not included but when I export it, it is a white square with my 45 in the middle! So, I have tried BMP and JPG. Pretty flat ... I put some white transparancies on top but not extended or various shades across it.

Re: CorelDraw10 circular image with no background

Check the properties for the background (bottom layer). You should be able to change it from white to transparent.

Seeing as I haven't got CorelDraw installed at the moment and can't give detailed instructions, do you want to post your image and I'll remove the white background for you in Photoshop? Or you can wait to see if any other CorelDraw users can help.
