Digital cam help!!!!

We have a Canon Powershot A300

ANd I was going to use it the other day to take some pics for ebay when I noticed that the LCD display that I look at to see what I am taking picture of, is pitch black.

I ask my sister what she did to it, cause she uses it to, and she said she did nothing. I looked in the manual and there was no mention of how to fix anything like this. I mesed with every single option on the camera, and even reset it to default settings, and STILL the LCD screen is pitch black! The camera will still take pics, but every pic it takes will turn out Completely pitch black as well! How do I fix this?

Re: Digital cam help!!!!

There must be small hole some where in your cam, generally somewhere near battery compartment door. Place a small pin and press for a few seconds. This will bring back the default settings. come back with your experience.

Re: Digital cam help!!!!

Well I will look for that when I get off work, but in the manual it said to press and hold the MENU button for 5 sec to get default settings. I did that and it gave me the message "Change to default settings?" and I hit YES, but still the view from the camera and the pics are pitch black!

Maybe the thing you are talking about is an entirly different default thing

Re: Digital cam help!!!!

There is no button at all near the battery. I really hope nothing is broken with this camera! Cause I have literally tried every button combo!!!!
