Vid editing

I have premire 5.0 but i no longer have the product key and i had to wipe my computer. saying that it is so old anyway i would have had to get something else soon anyway, is there any free movie editing softwares out there that you can do chromeing (aka green screen) effects and other things of the sort?

also i have adobe after effects (it came with the adobe sweat that i got) and i have no clue what it does i was wondering if theres any tutorials on A) what it is and B) how to use it

ok i got premire back and it is 6.0 not 5.0 any way im haveing a problem it wont let me open my footage to edit the program opens but every time i go to import it gives me an error

EDIT ( the error is unsuported file format, and the file does open in windows movie maker)

EDIT 2 ( the file type is wmv )

it could be that a coded was lost since you wiped your HD. try the k-lite full pack - it might have the codec you need.

if not install g-spot and see does that tell you the exact codec you need. you can check to see what codecs you have install under the device manager>sound, video & game controllers - select properties on video codecs and the select the properties tab
