Photoshop not working.

I have tried to install photoshop CS2 trial, and also CS3 beta, both have which don't work! They crash after the language select on the install, after the adobe logo. I have a feeling it may be to do with adobe reader, which also doesn't work, i have tried to install both 7 and 8, the install is fine, but then when i go to run it, they both fail on startup. On 8, when i open it, a white screen comes up, and if i close it, then it says something about the lisence agreement not being accessible. I tried going into the registery and changing the EULA value from 0 to 1, but that didn't work. has anyone got any ideas?! thanks
