Full HD Quality Possible on a DVD?
Hi,
Im currently awaiting the delivery of my toshiba 42wlt66 HD TV. Im not going to splash out on an HD-DVD addon for my xbox360 yet and my SkyHD will take at least 3weeks to be installed. So what I would like to know is can I burn full quality HD programs onto a regular DVD (obviously no larger that 4gb) Will nero still keep the HD quality even when converting the avi to DVD format? And will my regular DVD player be able to transmit the better quality? Also the TV has a VGA port so could I plug my computer into it and get HD quality avi's that way? Thanks guys, Leigh Last edited by Lellis2k; 02-10-2007 at 04:22 AM. |

nero vision express does keep the quality of the avi file. you do have the option to use duel layer discs at 8.5GB, if you burner can burn them. as a normal player goes i think your dvd player should be able to play duel layer and single layer at the quality they have been burnt at.

but it will not be true hd, as you need a hd dvd burner to make hd dvds. you'll just get a dvd with the best quality standard def using your regular dvd burner. i havn't seen any computer hd dvd burners, but i have seen blue-ray burners.

DVD video is 720x480 and HD is a minimum of 1280x720, quite a bit of difference.
