Problem with burning videos to cd/dvd
I'm trying to write avi videos to cd's (or dvd's) so I can play them in the dvd/cd player I have hooked up to my TV. I burn them with Nero, and the files will play fine on my laptop's drive or on the hardrive, but when I put them into my dvd player, the entire video is choppy. I tried increasing the quality with which they were burned but that didn't work, I can't figure out what the problem is.

if you are converting AVI clips to dvd format and they do play in the dvd player, albeit choppy, then i'm assuming you are using nero vision express to do this.
if you're dvd player plays both PAL and NTSC (25fps and 30fps respectively) then i would convert the AVI clip closest to the frame rate that it was created. you can use gspot to give you details of the video clip.

Thanks, i got the frame rate (23.95), and I tried to change the frame rate using nero 6 (all the other programs i've used wouldn't burn the file or just wouldn't work) but I couldn't find the option to let me do that.

There's a free program that burns AVI to DVD. Search for "dvd flick". http://www.digital-digest.com/software/dvd_flick.html
