I need help finding a program that can be used to make flash websites and/or flash movies.

Hold on there mitch before you run off lol, just some things you should know before you go and get yourself a copy of flash. I don't know what experience you have with site design but flash isn't something that you pick up in 10 minutes like frontpage. Even the example site you pointed us to while basic is not something that is easily achieved.

If you are looking for a program that will allow you to get right into the action without too much learning involved then you might want to consider a little number called swish. It's not as advanced as macromedia flash but you can pull off some pretty good results with very little experience.

NB: Downloading pirated copies of Macromedia Flash or Swish is illegal...and while the chances of getting caught are 1 in a million it is still a crime. By recommending these software packages to you we are expecting that you will legally purchase the software.

Some very wise words. Yes, if you don't have alot of time/patience, avoid macromedia flash. Between that and actionscript, it takes alot of learnin'

I use both Swishmax and Flash to create animations and I find Swish to be a lot easier and simpler to use. Unlike Flash, Swish has many effects already built in and there is great support for it too. You can download a trial copy at http://www.swishzone.com/index.php.
