Where oh where did my command go?
Greetings,
I am using Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006, but others in the office are using AutoCad LT 05....atleast until a couple of days ago when the LT seats were upgraded to 07. (we are not using ADT to its fullest abilitys, but to me it is better then using LT )I am not sure if it is relivent or not, but the day after the LT 07 was loaded on the computers that use LT, I found out that some of the people were not saving down to a earlyer version, which made the drawings unavalible to me. Once this was corrected, a couple of odd things occured. 1. Even after the drawings were resaved so that ADT 05 could read them, some of the drawings continue to pop up with "some elements were drawing in a later version" warning. 2. When pasting objects from another drawing, a strange "duplacate key" warning poped up. This warning would not go away untill the return key was pressed many many times, my guess is that the return key had to be pressed for each object that was inserted. 3. My distance command quit working. Now when I type "distance" (or my shortcut key for the command) it comes up with "DISTANCE = 0'-0" (read only)" After some investigation, I put the distance button onto a toolbar, and it worked. Further investigation showed me that the distance command now had to be entered as "_dist" I was then able to re-route my shortcut key to exicute the new command. It is importaint to know that my computer does not have LT07 on it, however it does have LT05 and ADT05. The only contact my computer had with anything from LT07 was opening drawing that had already been used by the newer program. Also, these same oddities are occuring with the only other ADT05 station we have. Any ideas? |

i'm not sure how installations on other pc's effected your one. i used to use an older version of ADT and i found myself running a repair on ADT menu files every couple of months. DI or DIST were always the commands used to get the distance between 2 points that i know of and DISTANCE is a read only showing the last measured distance taken.
however you can change these by editing (use notepad) the ACAD.PGP file in the support folder or using tools>customize>edit Custom Files>Program parameters(acad.pgp) the copy and paste as well as the open files warnings are probably compatability problems and all i can say is make sure you have the latest updates for your version of autocad. service packs can be got on the autodesk website.
