nero vision express or santadvd are 2 software programs i've used in the past to convert AVI clips to DVD files. it was very simple in both cases (although nero gives you the option to create a menu screen for your DVD player to display), a question of locatiing the AVI file(s) and then selecting an output folder and then letting the program go through the process. santadvd i found to be faster and more successful.

I have very good luck with WINAVI, either straight to DVD files, then use NERO to burn them, or to MPEG2 then use DVDLAB PRO to produce DVD files (if you want to add menus etc) then again, use NERO to burn.
