Codec Problem

I recently bought a Image Capturer and I'm having some problems with the thing. Okay so once I capture the file it's in a .mpg file. However I can't edit in WMM or in the software they gave to me. I saw that the codec properties are always this:

Audio Codec: CyberLink Audio Decoder

Video Codec: Nero DVD Decoder

I wanted to know how I can remove/change this so that I can edit the videos in WMM. I tried to change that option on the Image Capturer's software but there is no option for that. Any suggestions?

P.S. Nero video software can read the video (obviously) but I don't like their video software. I thought even to try exporting the video though Nero but it's still the same.
