Are you wanting to do 2D or 3D work? For 2D you can get Gimp for free. For 3D you can begin with Blender, also free.

Hay Ebackhus, How is the world doing you? I had made a grave error, I said "Myworks" when I ment "Ahchemy Mineworks". Now that you Minch it though. Is Gimp and Blinder a beginner friendly usable program, I am far from programming still, even though I am studing and learning HTML, You folks have gave me a good start on, which I highly thank you all for.

I would start out 2D first then drift into 3D once I get use to using it or does it matter?

Is there some place where I can see these program in action and maybe how it is done to make a simple animation drawing? What it might take to learn to use it from someone that is involve in it? Where do I go to get it, what am I looking for to download this stuff?

Take care and God Bless your days ahead. DC

Hay ebackhus, Thought about something, What I want to do with it might give you a hint what I want to do. I want to make my version of Godzilla or Godzure in Japanese, animate him to have a small battle with the Giego Lizard and the Aflac duck and there is a couple of birds for a power coumpany That will have a play in it. Sound silly I know But I have Kindof like that big lizard, He makes me Laugh and I sure need something to laugh at.

you can download tutorials for alchemy mindworks here. if you want to download a trial version you can do so here, if you have not already got the software installed.
there is a difference in 2D and 3D applications and how you'd approach creating objects in each. i've done very little 2D animation and nothing with alchemy mindworks - so i can be of little help with either.

blender and the gimp can be got on each link.

Hay folks, Want to thank you for the infor; been trying to download the Blender but I am stuck, on their web page they are telling me they have two different downloads for MS windows; 1 is a 2.4 installer and the other is a zip, can't seem to find someone on the website to tell me what the differents is. I also seem to be having a download time out which seems to shut my netzero down before it completes the download can you help me out there. I have plenty of hard drive space 96gb. I am going to try downloading Gimp to see where it go's

Hay Freddyhard, I click on the link and am downloading now, sure wish there was a faster way to get these downloads. 45mins to load. Thanks a bunch for all your help. Maybe it will load this time. I download Gimp and tryed to get it running but it is telling me I got to load GKp+runtime.... After I finished the down load I am going back to gimp to see what they are talking about. BTW what is a "download mirror" every one?

i've just been reading about 'elephants dream' and it lists freeware software to use for doing such a project. this one you might find interesting which is a modelling piece of software. it was used in conjunction with blender, but again i don't have any knowledge of it. there is alot of info to download on this link which should help you through the learning curve of the program.

here is another tutorial on building a castle. actually if you go to the home page and type in 'tutorial' on the search box on the bottom right you'll get a list of hits that you might like to browse through yourself.

I had Wings 3D installed because I was familiar with Nendo. I didn't like it...

Nope, haven't tried them. I'm still not connected at home yet so I can't get any info on them and I barely have time at work to write quick replies to TSF!

How-do Freddyhard and ebackhues I have Made notes of your links and ideas. Been having a hard time getting the downloads but I believe it is my server causing me the problem, they keep dropping me out as if I was being time out on Em's, "O TARTER SAUCE", Hopefully it will be resolved soon. Its like, Try 15 time and get lucky once.

Anyway thanks for all the info. I welcome more info any time, like the sound studio stuff which I have learn and using in my evangelistic work, It may take awhile but a lot of hard work and study, I'll get there.

O BTW how would I show off my art to yall if I Do some worth showing off?
