Text editors

Are there any good programs to mess around with text? Photoshop always makes me mad when it wont do what I want, and Illustrator is so INFURIATING!!! There are no good tutorials for Illustrator, plus it lacks the ability to save properly (ie as .png).

Now I know Photoshop would suffice, but I want to know how to make it work!! Or I want to know of a text program where you can edit your text without hassle.

ms-word? lol, sorry spatcher. what are you trying to do in particular? Paint Shop Pro (6 was the version i last bought) might be worth a look, but it does the mostly what photoshop can do, just is a slightly different manner.

InDesign is one of the better text editors out there, but its suited for documents and less for images. What about illustrator infuriates you?

The fact that I can't use it!!

Actually it's because the commands aren't like Photoshop and I don't understand how to use it.

first off, don't take this as an insult.

if you are having problems with programs that aren't photoshop, because their interface isn't like photoshop, then ANY of the programs people tell you about are also going to have interfaces that are NOTHING at all like photoshop.

so, it sounds like photoshop is your best bet, OR, you could dive in and learn another interface.
