Can see Video on PC, can't burn to DVD

I have a couple of videos on my PC that I can watch on my PC and I'd like to burn them onto a DVD I have been able to create chapters (using NERO), but can't go further...

When I try to burn to a DVD, it won't copy. Any thoughts on what's going on or how to fix it?

(I've tried the following approach without success: making an image file on the Harddrive (so that I can use DVDFab). But that program is looking for an "IMAGE_ISO" and doesn't recognize the image file made by NERO.)

what are the file types are on the HD? if they are AVI they will need to be converted to .vob and nero vision express can do that. i prefer santadvd, i found it faster and more compatable.
