Imovie bascially runs on Quicktime's engine. Quicktime is .mov. A .wmv will not play. You need to convert your .wmv to .mov. Quicktime Pro can do that but I'm not sure it accepts .wmv files to begin with. I am positive that Canopus ProCoder can convert .wmv to .mov. Why don't you burn the file onto a dvd or convert the file to mpeg2. Macs can play mpeg2.

I am writing to you from a Mac. I am 100% positive that a .mov will play. Quicktime was created by Apple.

I am 10000000000000000000000% sure. You create a new project. Then go File-Import. Select your .mov. It will take a litle while for it to import depending how big the file is and what computer you're using. But how will you convert your .wmv to .mov?

Try opening Quciktime Pro. Go to File-open file. Select your .wmv or .mpg. If it opens then great. Select File-Export. Select Quicktime Movie. Hit options and select the proper codec and audio settings. Then hit ssave and it will export it as a .mov

I see tht avs video convertor converts wmv-.mov. No need to go through an intermediate step. Just use it to convert your .wmv-.mov and there you go. I would recommend you use DV/DVCPRO NTSC as your Quicktime codec if your source is DV footage. Make sure your settings are correct in the audio and video parts.
