My System

If you've got money to burn and want the best, then Adobe Premiere ($800).

If it's just for editing home movies and short clips, ZS4 or VirtualDub should be good enough (both freeware).

If you want to be a Hollywood film editor then you're looking at Final Cut Pro or Avid.

I personally love Sony Vegas. Comes with just about anything you'd want to do in Premiere, only about half the price.

Im all adobe here.. and not very for Vegas. plus if your looking at like high quality stuff like graphics and such and you have alot and i do mean.. alot of money to burn.. production suite is AWESOME! it comes with software for audio, video, graphics, and special effects. but simple stuff would be more like windows movie maker! its free and gets the job done!
