Hey, I am a big fan of cricket and would like to discuss about the upcoming champioship -THE ICC TWENTY20 CRICKET TROPHY.I know that most of the people in western countries don't know about cricket

but,I can only give intro to them-
Cricket is a game played between two teams, generally of 11 members each. In essence, it is single combat, in which an individual batsman does battle against an individual bowler, who has helpers known as fielders. The bowler propels the ball with a straight arm from one end of the 22-yard pitch in an attempt to dismiss the batsman by hitting a target known as the wicket at the other end, or by causing the batsman to hit the ball into the air into a fielder’s grasp, or by inducing one of a number of other indiscretions. The batsman attempts to defend the wicket with the bat and to score runs – the currency of the game – by striking the ball to the field boundary, or far enough from the fielders to allow the batsman to run to the other end of the pitch before the ball can be returned. At least two bowlers must take turns, from alternating ends; also, there are always two batsmen on the field, each to take a turn as required. When all but one of the batting team have been dismissed – or after an agreed period (known as innings)– the teams’ roles are reversed. After all the players required to bat on both sides have done so either once or twice (which can take from a few hours to five days) the total number of runs accumulated determines the winner.The team having the max. runs in the end becomes the winner.Also,when a batsmen scores 100+ runs in Innings,he is said to have scored a hundred or has made a century.

Sorry,I fogot to give some information about twenty20 cricket format-

Twenty20 is a form of cricket, originally introduced in the United Kingdom for professional inter-county competition by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003. It is a type of single innings cricket in which each team bats for a maximum of only 20 overs and closely resembles a form of the game which has been popular in English amateur cricket since at least the 1960s.

A Twenty20 game is completed in about three hours, with each innings lasting around 75 minutes, thus bringing the game closer to the timespan of other popular team sports such as football. It was introduced to create a lively form of the game which would be attractive to spectators at the ground and viewers on television and as such has been very successful. The ECB did not intend that Twenty20 would replace other forms of the county game and these have continued alongside it.

The game has now spread around the cricket world and there have also been some Twenty20 internationals, with all Test-playing nations having played at least one game. The inaugural Twenty20 World Championship will be contested in South Africa in 2007.

nope,there is no tv station that's going to air it,that's very shamefull for ICC(international cricket council)that they can't even find a small broadcaster for US.And that's the reason why cricket is getting ,from less popular to least popular in US.
I think that you have to find a Pay-per-view service to get it.(though u would not do it if ur not a big fan of cricket)It is being viewed by sky sports in UK& Fox sports in Australia,see if you can somehow get these channel's,but,i don't think that they are going to view it in US.
I wonder what will happen to the foreign people who love cricket and are settled in USA.
I also wonder what happened to the USA cricket team which played in 2004 mini-world cup(champion's trophy).

I don't know anything at all about the game. From what you have written I do think it would be more exciting to me than some of the stuff they show here in the US. I guess I'll have to wait and see if they ever do show it here to see if I like it.

Hey,Twenty20 cricket is thousand times fascinating than normal cricket,but, yeah it is not as good as football or baseball or some others played in US.

west indies is out and australia is thrashed by zimbabwe,how painfull and shamefull it is for an aussie,but,for their rivals ,all the hopes are on england for big friday.

The fact that they didn't do too well against Zimbabwe and have only just scraped in to the top of the log should pique interest in them again. I reckon the final will be between Sri Lanka and South Africa. LOL I am not biased am I ???????

Theres a habit of writing us off in these tournaments and I must confess our track record is poor in finals. 434 to win does spring to mind though

I think SA-IND for final and surely (or 70% chances) SA will win
I have taken India,cause the way they defeated Pakistan in bowl-out and the way they almost cornered New Zealand,India is the only team after SA till now to make such a big score batting second.

okay,It's all,India have done it.THEY ARE THE T20 WORLD CUP WINNERS.They were not the favorites as they were without their big three,but,still they have done it,full credit to Indian team.This proves that the team with less pressure usually wins.
